AB Yachts Unveils First AB 95S: A New Benchmark for High-Performance Sport Yachts

AB Yachts delivers first 28.5m AB 95S sport yacht — triple 2,200hp MANs, aerodynamic Archea design, 53 knots

AB Yachts Unveils First AB 95S: A New Benchmark for High-Performance Sport Yachts

AB Yachts delivers first 29m AB 95S sport yacht

AB Yachts has officially delivered the first unit of its highly anticipated sport variant, the 28.5-meter AB 95S. This milestone delivery, completed on April 20, 2026, marks the successful arrival of a vessel designed specifically for an experienced American owner. Initially debuted to the global market at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the yacht was launched from AB Yachts’ state-of-the-art Viareggio facilities in March before undergoing final preparations for its new owner.

As a performance-focused evolution of the existing AB 95 line, the 95S is engineered for those who prioritize speed without compromising luxury. The vessel is built to exceed a staggering 53 knots, reinforcing the shipyard’s reputation for cutting-edge technology and water-jet propulsion expertise. This delivery not only confirms the yard’s technical prowess but also strategically expands the AB Yachts portfolio, offering a dedicated sport version that brings a new level of adrenaline to the 30-meter category.

High-performance AB 95S hits speeds beyond 53 knots

AB Yachts cites a top speed in excess of 53 knots for the AB 95S, achieved through a lightweight construction and potent propulsion. Hull one is fitted with three MAN V12X‑2200 engines, each rated at 2,200 hp, delivering the power required for sustained high speeds and the handling characteristics the yard describes as “excellent.”

The project also incorporates advanced systems aimed at performance and control, including a high‑tech helm station developed in collaboration with Italian shipyard Fincantieri. The combination of propulsion, hull form and integrated electronics is intended to optimise both straight‑line speed and manoeuvrability at high speed.

Sporty Archea design, carbon build and beach club

The AB 95S exterior by Archea Associati presents sporty, flowing lines and an aerodynamic profile that visually lowers the superstructure. An opening roof integrated into the superstructure enhances the bright, open feel of the main deck, while social areas on deck include an open cockpit and a substantial aft beach club with direct access to the sea.

Construction uses composite materials with extensive carbon fibre to reduce weight and improve performance; the hull and deck are composite. The aft beach club accommodates a four‑metre tender, jet skis and multiple inflatables. Below decks, accommodation for eight guests centres on a full‑beam owner’s suite finished in refined materials; insulated panels plus leather and suede treatments are reported to reduce noise and create a quieter interior environment.

AB Yachts expands high-speed range and market appeal

The AB 95S was first shown publicly at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2024 and represents the sport‑oriented half of the dual‑version AB 95 programme. Key dimensions include a 6.8‑metre beam and a shallow draught of 1.4 metres, underlining the design’s balance between volume, performance and access to shallow anchorages.

AB Yachts currently has five other superyachts under construction, including two AB 130 units (the first AB 130 was delivered last year), signalling continued investment in both larger and higher‑speed models. The AB 95S broadens the yard’s appeal to owners prioritising high speed and performance while maintaining the onboard amenities and build quality expected in this segment; future deliveries will indicate market reception and inform subsequent iterations.
