Cantiere delle Marche Announces Keel Laying of RAW 110

Cantiere delle Marche Marks RAW 110 Keel Laying

The keel laying of the RAW 110 was celebrated during a private ceremony at the Cantiere delle Marche shipyard, marking the formal start of the yacht’s physical construction. In shipbuilding tradition this event is highly symbolic: the keel functions as the structural backbone of the vessel and its placement signals the transition from design and planning to assembly and outfitting.

Beyond ceremony, the keel laying initiates critical stages of construction, including hull assembly and the integration of primary structure and systems. For the RAW 110, this milestone confirms the project is moving from concept to tangible progress at the shipyard and sets the schedule toward subsequent outfitting and trials.

Owner Praises Cassetta Aesthetics and Spacious Layouts

The owner cited the innovative exterior and interior aesthetics developed by architect Cassetta as a primary attraction, noting an immediate rapport with the design approach. The visual language and proportions conceived by Cassetta were decisive in shaping the owner’s confidence in the project’s stylistic direction.

Functionally, the owner highlighted the RAW line’s generous volumes and the strong, fluid connection between interior and exterior living areas. These spatial qualities, combined with the platform’s established technical reliability, formed the practical rationale for selecting the RAW 110 for their program.

Custom Layouts Include Large Tender, Toy Storage, Bikes

From the outset, the owner specified several custom provisions that were incorporated into the project. The brief included space for a large tender and significant forward storage capacity to accommodate numerous water toys, both already accounted for in the design documentation.

In addition, the owner—an avid cyclist—requested on-board bicycle storage. The design response locates several bicycles in a dedicated, easily accessible area within the stern beach club, secured and bounded by bulwarks to facilitate storage, deployment and protection while at sea.

RAW 110 Reflects CdM Commitment to Safe Long Voyages

Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of Cantiere delle Marche, framed the RAW 110 as an embodiment of the yard’s operational philosophy: not to rely on showy features but to deliver projects optimized for comfortable and safe long-distance voyaging. “RAW is the purest expression of this philosophy—a project born from our relentless commitment to the evolution of yacht design,” he said, emphasizing ongoing development rather than resting on past successes.

This keel-laying milestone reinforces CdM’s commitment to practical, seaworthy design solutions and to continuous improvement in technical and naval architecture. With hull assembly now underway, the project will proceed through outfitting and systems installation toward commissioning and sea trials, following the program established at this stage.
